Prayer Letter: October 2018

Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:1-6

Good News Clubs:

For nearly three years now Kristin, along with a few ladies from our church have faithfully served the Lord in a Deland Boys and Girls Club. After much labor in the lives of these children, pointing them to Jesus, in October Kristin was blessed to lead four of them in trusting the Lord. Soon after, two of the four started attending the bus ministry at Bible Baptist. Please pray for these children and this wonderful open door.

Light On A Thousand Hills:

Recently the Lord greatly blessed Kristin and me with a wonderful opportunity. It seems the Lord’s ability to make all things work together for good never ceases. We will be serving primarily in the Southern region of Uganda. This is where brother Keith Stensaas is located, it’s the location of the Ssese Islands, and now added to these is Rwanda. Recently this country expelled the only known Baptist Missionary and shut down numerous religious organizations.

Of course at face value, this appears to be terrible, and there are aspects of this decision, along with the government regulations that accompany it. Yet what this has done is create a great hunger for the Lord amongst the Christians in Rwanda. Kristin and I were able to meet with Pastor Tim Fellure of Victory Baptist Church Milton, Florida, as well as veteran missionary Tony Stark about this situation. Brother Tony has many contacts in country, including a few Rwandan born men that have been trained for the ministry. He has a wonderful vision for the country and Victory Baptist is excited to work with him in this endeavor to plant Bible-believing Churches along with Bible Schools in country. We are thrilled and privileged to work alongside him.

This is a wonderful development to our service for the Lord Jesus Christ in East Africa. We greatly need your prayers as we continue to develop a proper plan and vision for this open door. The Christian life is so exciting and God is so good to us. Thank you for taking the time to read this, please pass these matters on to the brethren that pray and seek God’s face.

Deputation Travels:

We must take a moment to thank Beacon Baptist Church in Jupiter, Florida. “My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.” (1 John 3:18-19). What a wonderful example of love and charity this church proved to be. Thank you for so blessing us in the short time we were with you. Kristin and still have a very busy end of the year ahead. Missions Conferences in South Carolina, Kentucky, and Virginia. Your prayer for us is greatly coveted.

Ambassadors for Christ, Uganda & Rwanda Africa

Thomas and Kristin Irvin
